Google Drive for Desktop
If you prefer to work on non-Google formatted files from your desktop, you can install Google Drive for desktop if your administrator has it turned on. Then, you can access uploaded files in any browser or device that has Drive installed.
If you uninstall Drive for desktop, your Drive files won’t be affected. You can still access the files from Drive on the web.

Please note: Any machines setup by ICT North should have the Google Drive for Desktop app installed, if it’s not running, open Start and find Google Drive in the program list. Click on this and it should ask you to sign into it. Please follow the below video guide.
Please Note: Although this video talks about “Mirroring” your Google Drive files to your mahcine, we DO NOT recommend it’s use as this will fill up your machines hard disk. Please refrain from using this feature on your machine.

Q: Help, my Google Drive for Desktop is showing a ? on my pc and I can't access it.
A: Don’t panic! Usually the cause of this is that the Google Drive for Desktop application isn’t running. Open your start menu and click Google Drive in the program list. Once the program runs, try to open your Google Drive folder again. 👍
